The BFA Fashion Design & Merchandising program at Villa Maria College is proud to be graduating its first cohort. The fashion design seniors have been working tirelessly on their final collections & it was the crowning moment of a productive year to showcase their design visions in the By Design fashion show. Enjoy these runway photos from Cynthia Shantel & check back for more!
Each of the seniors had a distinct theme which they explored through colour, cut & construction.
Sarah Clark‘s Big Bad Wolf dynamic collection opened the second half of the show with a vibrant mix of leather & spikes; her tattooed models perfectly reimagined the familiar Little Red Riding Hood fairytale with a punk twist.
Allie Pawlukojc brought us a serene collection Le Grand Décolletage with sumptuous silks, satins, tulle & lace in a neutral colour palette reminiscent of 1930s haute glamour fashioned into garments featuring lingerie & corsetry detailing.
Katelynn Hanners‘ Anarchy in Versailles creative collection combined knits, prints, tailoring & historic garment construction in the form of panniers all fashioned in a mix of colours inspired by the macaroons eaten by Marie Antoinette herself.
